Setting Up Disney+

Disney+ activation usually works through an eight-character code shown on your television. The most common sticking points are entering it on the wrong site, letting it expire, or an app that has not been updated in a long time.

Activating on a TV or streaming device

• Install and open the Disney+ app on your TV, stick or console.
• Choose Log In — an eight-character code appears on screen.
• On a phone or computer, open disneyplus.com/begin and sign in.
• Enter the code exactly as shown. It is not case sensitive but it does expire.
• The TV should move on by itself within a few seconds.

Profiles and parental controls

Each profile can have its own content rating limit, and a Kids profile locks the interface down to age-appropriate titles. A profile can also be PIN-protected so younger viewers cannot switch out of it.

• Open your profile menu and choose Edit Profiles.
• Set a content rating for each child’s profile.
• Turn on Profile Lock and set a four-digit PIN.

Problems we fix most often

• Code rejected or expiring before it is entered.
• App installed but not appearing on an older smart TV.
• Playback stuck at low quality, or stopping after a few minutes.
• Bundle subscriptions where the login belongs to another provider.
• Downloads not working on a tablet or phone.
