Vizio Smart TV Setup & Support
Get the TV on the network, SmartCast behaving, and your apps actually loading.
Setting Up a Vizio Smart TV
Almost everything on a Vizio set runs through SmartCast, so a TV that seems broken is very often a TV that has simply lost its network connection or missed a firmware update.
First-time setup
- Connect the power and at least one HDMI source before switching on.
- Work through the on-screen setup and join your Wi-Fi network.
- Allow the television to check for a firmware update and let it finish.
- Sign in to the apps you use once SmartCast has finished loading.
When SmartCast will not load
- Power the television off at the wall for one full minute.
- Check the Wi-Fi password has not changed since setup.
- Move the router closer, or test with a wired connection if the set supports it.
- As a last resort, reset SmartCast from the system menu and sign in again.
Problems we fix most often
- TV connected to Wi-Fi but apps refusing to open.
- Casting from a phone failing or dropping out.
- Remote not pairing after a battery change.
- No sound over HDMI-ARC with a soundbar attached.
- Picture settings changing by themselves between inputs.
