Setting Up Sling TV

Sling is a live television service, so problems tend to show up as missing channels or dropped streams rather than sign-in failures. Both are usually fixable without changing your plan.

Activating your device

• Install the Sling app on your TV, stick or console and open it.
• Choose Sign In to display your activation code.
• Open sling.com/activate on a phone or computer.
• Sign in and enter the code shown on your television.

When channels are missing

Sling splits its channels across different base packages and add-on extras. A channel you expected may simply sit in a package you are not subscribed to, rather than being a fault.

• Check which base package your account is on.
• Look at whether the channel belongs to an add-on extra.
• Sign out and back in after any plan change so the line-up refreshes.

Problems we fix most often

• Streams buffering or dropping during live events.
• Local channels not appearing for your area.
• Cloud DVR recordings failing or filling up.
• Being logged out on one device when signing in on another.
• App not loading after a firmware update on the TV.
